Sports betting is optional
Responsible play
A pick is never a reason to chase losses, borrow money or wager more than you can afford to lose.
Keep betting in perspective
- Set a limit before you open a sportsbook, and stop when you reach it.
- Never bet with money needed for rent, food, bills or debt payments.
- Do not chase a loss by raising the next bet.
- Take a break if betting stops feeling like entertainment.
- Only use a licensed sportsbook where wagering is legal and only if you meet your local age requirement.
North Carolina: State law requires a person placing a sports wager to be at least 21. Read Article 9 of Chapter 18C.
